Chapter 16

Christianity

Questions that must be answered

These are questions that members of Churchism will need to answer. If you believe in things which cannot be found in God’s Scripture, then you should consider yourself a member of Churchism.  Answers from “Church Traditions” are not acceptable.

(1)  Find one reference in Scripture that commands, implies or references      “Christians” to “go to worship” as all churches teach.

(2)  Find one reference in Scripture where Christians are commanded, implied,  referenced or given an example to give into a “Church Treasury” as all churches are doing today and most have a goal of 10% based on tithing of the Old Law. Churchism teaches that it is required by God and necessary for salvation.

(3)  How can “Christians” lay up treasures in Heaven? Can a person lay up treasures     in Heaven by giving to a “church treasury? Not according to Scriptures.

(4)  Find one reference in Scripture where God placed a preacher, pastor or clergy in the assembly of Saints to preach, as it is considered necessary today. Out of all the congregations which Paul planted, find one preacher in any one congregation or find in all of his thirteen letters (nine to congregations) any references where he ever addressed or mentioned a preacher chosen by the congregation in any one of the congregations he started or any congregation that someone else started.    Remember those like Timothy and Titus were not chosen by the congregation but     were chosen by the Holy Spirit through the Apostles and sent by God.

(5)  Find one congregation in New Testament times that chose their own elder (bishops/overseers).  Find one congregation prior to 70AD who had controlling elders who controlled the agenda of the congregation or elders who controlled any crises of that period (for there were many crises). Find one occasion where elders    of that period had the authority to discipline any member of the congregation.  According to Acts 20:28 the elders (overseers) were chosen by the Holy Spirit.  Name one elder (bishop, overseer) on earth today who was chosen by the Holy     Spirit.  Find any reference in the Scriptures where Paul instructed any of the congregations or gave qualification to any congregation so they would have reason to select their own elders (bishops, overseers).

(6)  Find one reference in the Scriptures where God said He would destroy this world    when Christ returns. The reference of 2 Peter 3 does not mention “end of world” and is figurative language of the change which came in 70AD, such as the removing of the old heaven and old earth that was under the Law and the removal of the law in fulfillment. 2 Peter 3:10,12, mentions “the element shall melt with fervent heat” According to Young's (stoicheion) the word element is also “rudiment or first step (or first principal) which refers to the Old Law of Moses. The burning or removal of the element (rudiment, first step) was the removal of the Law---not the removal of the world! Find one example or reference where God ever told us that Christ would return thousands of years after that period, after telling those in that age through Christ and the Apostles that Christ would come in their time to restore man into the Kingdom of God and that some would still be alive when he returned, such as John. If Christ did not destroy his enemies, death, Satan (the adversary) and did not fulfill all prophecies with the resurrection of those in the graves, then he failed to accomplish what he came for and thus also God’s promise failed. You will also have to explain John 21:22 where Jesus said to Peter “If I will that he (John) tarry till I come, what is that to thee?” Also you need to explain Matthew 16: 27, 28, Mark 9:1 and Mark 13:24-33 and many other similar verses such as the parable of the Tares which has a clear explanation of when Christ was to return.

(7)  Catholicism was the first great Apostasy that controlled this world for almost 1,200 years beginning about 325AD.  Martin Luther ushered in the second great Apostasy Protestantism in about 1520AD and it has divided itself into more than 35,000 denominations and non-denominations. Show me, if you can any references in the Scriptures of the Body of Christ which show any resemblance to Catholicism or Protestantism from which all Churches are created.
